Hi everybody! Bob and I went shopping the other day, and thought we'd take you with us! It was a gorgeou sunny day, with blue skies - just perfect! Starting at our flat, we walked around the Ap Lei Chau promenade, along the waterway and the fishing boats, through the Ap Lei Chau gardens, to our little sampan ferry (80 cents!). Across the waterway, the ferry takes us to Aberdeen Village, under the main road (the walkway is called the subway), and through the village, past the bus terminus, through the loud and crowded streets of Aberdeen and into our grocery store, Park N'Shop. Thought you'd like to see the inside of the store, including the huge fresh fish section! Still trying to figure out what half of the swimming things are in there!
We go into the village every Sunday to pay bills, run errands and pick up groceries for the week. Now, we're into Chinese New Year - and have holidays until Feb 11th - lots to see and do here in Hong Kong. Hopefully we'll see fireworks, parade with the large dragon, and give out our Lei Cees (red envelopes with about $20HKD ($3CD) inside, that we will give out to everyone who 'serves' our life - doormen, housekeepers, etc. It should be fun!
