Happy Easter and Spring Break! We have spent a fun first week of holidays with our good friend Kevin McMillen, who arrived from the Island on March 19th, and left this morning the 29th. We visited lots of new places, and had a chance to be a part of the largest event in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Rugby 7s tournament (also the biggest rugby sevens tournament in the world) - great fun!
The girls were awakened at 10:30am... to go egg hunting!
The face only a mother could love! Come on, Sarah - there's eggs out 'dere!
Walking through the city street markets with our visitor - first time it has rained in Hong Kong in months!
One of Sarah's highlights this month - she went with one of her good friends, Devin Munoz and her family to the Maroon 5 concert.
And a happy birthday Bob present to see the Santana concert with me - same venue - the Asia World Expo!
Bob took us to see the most amazing place, Shek O village, on the north coast of the island - full of these tiny 3 storey flats, all painted in the greatest colours - amazing!
Bob in Shek O village - taking Kevin and I to the most amazing Thai food restaurant - all outdoors - blue skies and clean air - amazing day - felt like we could have been anywhere!
Dinner and a movie in the flat - lots of room!
On the famous Star Ferry going across to Kowloon-side to see Fa Yeun Market in Mong Kok -
Lots of easter eggs to share!
Shek O village again - wandering the streets and alleyways among the buildings - they didn't mind us peaking in their little courtyards - really friendly locals!
The beach at Shek O - rent three sunchairs and an umbrella - $100 Hong Kong (about $15 CAD)
Alleyway in Shek O
Back courtyards in Shek O - wonderful colours
Shek O beach - we'll take the girls here next week on a good sunny clear day again!
An amazing experience to go to the Hong Kong Stadium to see the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens tournament - over 25 countries - including Canada, Wales, Scotland, UK, Australia, New Zealand blacks, Tunisia, Sri Lanka, China and Chinese Taipei, Fiji, Samoa - it was amazing!

Entrance to the stadium - follow the crowds!

We also caught the pandas at Ocean Park this time! They were all out in force that day - good luck!

Canada men's team - Bob and Kevin went for lunch the day before to the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, who was hosting the team for their annual fundraising auction. Bob met lots of the players, and the coach, who is the rugby coach at UVIC.

Behind Sarah and her mom - the McMaster family (our head of school) and their son Mitchell who painted his face, and got on tv!

The Canadian women's team made it to the final - but lost to the US - great game!

The Canadian mens team

Meg and her friend Janice at the games - lots to see - we were there all day - great fun!
Hope you enjoyed the pics - hope you all had a great Easter break! Love, Bob Jen Sarah and Meggie! xoxoxoxoxxo
