Our new car!2009 Toyota Highlander Hybrid--one of the first in the country. She arrived from Japan (Toyota only builds hybrids there) last week, shipped via rail to Edmonton and then put on a tranporter to Dawson Creek. The salesman drove it from DC to Fort St. John on Friday. It was raining so when the car arrived, she was filthy. I haven't had a chance to wash her and now it is snowing so don't know if I will before the Spring.
Her name is a compromise. I knew I wanted to call her Bridget (as in Hi! Brid-get). Greg recognized her aristocratic breeding (she is a high bred) and is a real blue-blood.
I think the colour is closer to periwinkle but the official colour is Wave Pearl.
No key. Push a button to start. It's a crossover so not as big as the Explorer and, of course, the fuel economy is much better. Ordered winter tires this afternoon...luckily a set of 19"Blizzaks in Edmonton. Greg and I are reading the book of words but we will have to do that while we are actually sitting in the vehicle!
