Shea wins $$ from contest!

In about October, the Elks and Royal Purple group made a poster contest for drug awarness. Everyone in class had to make a poster with three things in it: name, a good message, and an eye-catching picture to go with it. So I drew one, and I didn't think it was very good. It was a big TV screen cut in half and one half had rainbow background and things that are good for you (example: water bottles, running shoes, apples, fruit) and the other half had a grey background with cigarettes and drugs in black and white. So there was a good, bright side, and a bad, dark side. Below the TV was a remote with a hand on it and it was half in and half out and pointing to the TV. The words above the TV said 'You hold the remote' and below, between the remote and TV, 'What channel do you choose?' I guess it was a pretty good poster

Then we hadn't heard about them for about eight monthes. And suddenly, on our daily calendar it said 'Elks assembly for poster contest.' My class was excited so we went ot the gym, and they introduced each other. Then, they said the winners for Rowan's class. Sadly, he was not one. Then they said the winners for Mr. Boates' class. Then came my class. They said third and second places first, then they said 'And this one also did well, not only did she win first here, but she also won third in the provincial level!' and he called my name and I went up and he said '$55' and I smiled at the camera and sat back down. He ment 'also' because the person who won first for Mr. Boates' class won second in provincials. So it was pretty cool, and I won 55 dollars! Yippee!
