Birthday Bash Summer 2010

What a bash, what a party, what an afternoon! It all started with strawberries, rich, red and awaiting their chocolate bath...

Friday morning, we paid a happy visit to the dollar store and bought them out of blue and green decor, and once home, made signs, cards and decorated the living room and deck for our celebrations.

Penny and Ken had brought with them a wonderful little fountain of chocolate, fed with large chunks of white and milk chocolate which melted softly across the three warm tiers. We dipped strawberries, bananas and oranges, and found ourselves licking off our plates. Father delighted Maman by licking off her chocolate chin :)

After lunch, we presented gifts, signs and a wonderful large card made by Meg and Shea. The girls had found familial quotes on the internet and printed them around postcards drawn from each of our own places onto the card: Qualicum, Hong Kong, Fort St. John, Duncan, Prince George, Victoria - even Granny signed her card and was a happy part of our celebrations.

And finally, a tramp down Handy to the beach and we gathered shells to paint. Some will wing their way to Prince George, others to Hong Kong, and still others will stay in Mill Bay to splash some small colours into the garden.

A jolly time enjoyed by all, and many many times it was noted how perfect it would have been had all of us been together. Those who weren't here in person, were certainly held in hearts and spirits all afternoon.

Enjoy the photos!
