Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia

A wonderful, whirlwind trip to Kota Kinabalu (Kin-ah-BAH-lu), Borneo, Malaysia for Bob and I. We stayed in two incredible waterfront resorts - the Shangri La, and the Sutera Magellan, each for two nights. Gorgeous green waters, where we went snorkelling and para-sailing (there's one for the record books!), read books by the water for hours, and ate really well! In the small township there's a fun arts & crafts market, food market, and wonderful restaurants along the quay. Bob got in a game of golf, and I had an incredible spa visit. So relaxing, and a great getaway, enjoy the pictures!
Lobby of the Shangri La - amazing flowers

The view from our room to the beach

Within an hour of arrival, we're poolside with strawberry margaritas and our books :)

Dinner along the quay - incredible prawns
Fun in the markets

I think we parked here for 6 hours
Food market - fresh fruits and vegetables AND chili peppers!

Snorkelling at one of the small islands across the water from our hotel - the water was crystal clear, and the COLOURS! of fish and coral - so beautiful
A monitor lizard, lots of them on the islands, Bob got up close and personal! About 4 feet in length with tail
Watching the sunset
Para sailing - a ton of fun! He slowed the boat enough so we dropped into the water to our waists - very cool!
Another small island for snorkelling
One of the many local fishing boats in the water
Our last evening sunset in this beautiful part of the world :)
