Autumn colours and blue skies - great train trip from Montreal to Kingston

Still can't get over the blue skies- been 5 years since we've seen the Autumn colours
Rolling farmland and the GREEN...f
2.5 hours later we're in Kingston!
Outside the Tourist Info center, former train station, right at the historic waterfront in Kingston
We found our way to the West Campus - Jean Royce Hall where Meg's res is.
"Looks like Kwalikum Secondary School' colours", says Meg
I think it looks pretty cool
I
The view from Meg's room in the Roy Hall, Jean Royce Hall, West Campus - the football stadium just round the corner :)
A touristy trip to a 1000 Island Cruise, aboard the "Belle"

The Island Belle - felt like an old steamship, and who KNEW the history here!!
Kingston streets - chock full of historic old buildings ' 'stone' buildings made from the limestone deposits directly under Kingston
Seriously felt like we were going back in time = a FREE horse wagon through the city streets :)

The Hochelaga Inn - kinda like the beautiful historic buildings in Victoria, BC  hey, I used to LIVE in one :)
3 major waterways join here - the Ottawa River, the St. Lawrence Seaway and Lake Ontario.  MAJOR winds and currents - serious sailing - this is where our Canadian Olympians train for sailing... constant wind, gorgeous water.

Lake Ontario - really gorgeous, so big, can't believe it's a LAKE (so says the Pacific Ocean girl)
One of the 4 Martello towers - built to protect the waterways from the British
Entrance to the Royal Military College
RMC main building

Queen's University Campus

One of the main streets at Queen's - Union Street
Seriously gorgeous architecture
One of the oldest buildings on Campus

The Welcome Centre, and our first stop!
And move-in day begins!  7:30 AM start - one of the many cars pulling up at the West Campus, all of us unloading a carful of 'res home' for our kids.... we were experts after moving Sarah into Solin in Montreal :)
3 hours later - all moved in - from the frij to the artwork on the walls - pretty good!  Now time to explore Meg's res
Roy Hall Entrance to Meg's dorm
And a Minnie quilt to add to the dorm room home style:)
And so begins Meg's big adventure at Queens University, Kingston, Ontario!  WE love you, Meg xoxo
