Thailand in October!

At the Bridge on the River Kwai - they pronounce it "kway".  the last stop in our Thailand day tour - about 4 hours from Bangkok.'

Huge tropical thunderstorm approaches, and we literally run to the other side - hot, fat raindrops :)

Great Thai Restaurant along the riverside

Great Museum by the cemetery of British, American and dutch soldiers - beautifully kept gardens and memorial.

And now we're off to the Floating market - we were in a long, flat bottom 'canoe' and juggled our way along water alleyways.

Very cool food 'stalls' set up along the quay - smelled good, but a little sketchy!

Back alley

typical souvenirs for sale, but also coconuts, fruit and cold beer

Railway Market - SO cool - see the tracks at my feet - the train passes by 8X a day and the stalls and canopies are flung out of the way, JUST in time, and once it passes on, back go the tables and canopies, and it's business as usual

Lots of local meat, fish, vegetables and fruit - very pungent, lots of local shoppers and tourists

The train barely passes by the displays on the ground - loud market sellers and tour guides, sweaty and hot - fun!
Eels anyone? - A great getaway holiday in October
