Bob in Victoria Park for the traditional Chinese New Year Market. Originally it was a flower market - and half of the market is still selling gorgeous flowers (dahlias, chrysans, and unbelievable orchids), plus orange trees (some other fruits we couldn't recognize) and wishing trees (I think cherry blossom trees) but they had been cut (some trunks were 6" across), and put into amazing pots - and forced to bloom. I bought some twigs, and now they're happily producing little blooms in my vase... shades of spring at home!

Plus tulips and daffs!

Braving the crowds - we were swept along literally with the crowd - good thing we're not claustrophobic! We couldn't have approached the stalls to purchase even if we wanted to!

Wishing trees - in our lobby at the complext - the tree is over 15' high, and 100s of little red lay see (lie see) envelopes are hanging from it. Quite cool, really

Some sort of fruit tree - couldn't tell you...

Ocean Park is a huge area, covering several km in Aberdeen,
about 5 minutes from our flat - first time we had the chance to visit. Bigger and better than Disney, featuring amusement rides, including two rollercoasters, food stalls, Panda Habitat, Shark Aquarium, games and interpretive learning centers. We bought the girls annual passes, as this is where the teens hang out.... Loads of fun, and great, cool weather to visit!

Tram ride (about 15 minutes) takes us from the Lower entrance and games, Panda Habitat upto Upper Level for the rides, rollercoasters, food stalls, etc. @ Ocean Park. Really great way to see the area - to the right of this area is our little harbour, and flat at Ap Le Chau

Shark exhibit - yup, the real thing!

Entrance to Shark Exhibit - walk through tunnel UNDER the aquarium, and watch the sharks (all kinds in same space) swim over you. Quite eerie! Rowan, you would have loved this! Every kind of shark, including nurse sharks, manta rays, blue sharks, - all swimming around, and OVER us!

Rides and food (yes, Macdonalds here too!)

And the highlight of our holiday - seeing our cousins - they were real troupers, battling jetlag the whole time. They saw tons of sights, and we visited many markets, had great meals, and it was really fun catching up with news from home!

We spent three really fun days, using our Octopus cards for buses, subway and Star Ferry to get out and about! These Rogers know how to trek!

One of the many markets we visited - so much to see!
