Rodeo Rafting!

This is what we did yesterday! Meg's number one was white water rafting, so we found Rodeo Rafting about 30 minutes away, just north of Quillan, along the River Aude. We had driven through the Gorge to Cadeques, and so knew it was a twisty narrow canyon! Everything about this adventure was so fun! Getting ready, laughing at each other in our skin tight wet suits, the driving adventure to get to the start of the course and then the ride itself! We practised falling out, and then did it again for fun, we jumped off a cliff, and then did it again because it was so FUN! All the kiddies and adults were gung ho and we had a marvelous time.

Our guide, Solenne, stopped twice - 'do you have hunger?' - once for blackberries clinging alongside the stone bank, and again where he disappeared into the bush and came out with hands laden with sweet beautiful plums! We swam, feet first, for a bit, too. Bob was reminded of his swim with the salmon in Campbell River.

The Rapids were fabulous! We all yelled, screeched and did a Sandrew 'yahoo'! Meg, Jen and Shea had to be hauled back into the boat a couple of times and once Ro had to sit inside during a particularly exciting part. All in all, a wonderful exciting heart-stomping ride!
