From West to East

Good morning across the world! It's taken a couple of days to get connected :) We had a wonderful flight from Comox, sun coming up and a beautiful day. We saw BC Place and Cypress and caught some of the Olympics excitement that is surrounding Vancouver. The airport was full of Russian and Chinese athletes on their way home - very cool. We looked for Pleschenko, but he wasn't there - must be off in his hotel nursing his silver medal..:)

The flight to HK was great. Nice having the tvs in the seat ahead :) We watched tons of movies and television shows and sped our way westward over Alaska, Russia and northern China, amazed that we were actually there, and on our way :) We arrived quite tired, but made it through Customs without incident. Jen and Meg were awaiting us and we flew into their arms! A train ride later and a short cab ride to Sham Wan Towers.

What a beautiful city is Hong Kong! As we raced through the city, up streets, over passes, the evening light show began and all the skyscrapers came to life in a burst of neon! Lots of the go with Chinese New Year and we're so lucky to be here during this special time. There are orange trees and cherry blossoms and red signs with tigers everywhere. The air is full of spices and fish!

We had a good sleep, woke a few times and then spent the day yesterday exploring the heritage part of HK on a bus tour. Here's some pictures for you!
